Brian Perry joined the Mississippi Deptartment of Agriculture & Commerce as Chief-of-Staff for Commissioner Andy Gipson in June 2019. Prior, he served as Field Director for U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith following the retirement of U.S. Senator Thad Cochran, whom he served as Director of Special Projects.

Previously, Perry was managing partner of Capstone Public Affairs and wrote a syndicated column for the Madison County Journal. Before Capstone, Perry served as Communications Director for U.S. Rep. Chip Pickering and press secretary for Gov. Haley Barbour’s 2007 reelection. He formerly served as political director for the Mississippi Republican Party and communications director for the Mississippi Family Council.

Perry has appeared on Fox News; NPR’s “Morning Edition”; and frequently on SuperTalk MS & other talk radio stations. He has appeared in The Washington Times, Roll Call, National Journal, Congressional Quarterly, The Hill, & local publications & broadcast groups on Mississippi politics. Perry assisted retired U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Charles W. Pickering, Sr. in writing 2 books: Supreme Chaos and A Price Too High. Perry coauthored an analysis of U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker's special election for Campaigns & Elections Magazine.

In 2012, Campaigns & Elections Magazine named Brian a top 10 political influencer in Mississippi. The Washington Post named Brian a Mississippi top politico on Twitter.

As a volunteer, Perry performed press advance work for Pres. George W. Bush in 2002, joined a 72-hour taskforce in Florida for Bush’s 2004 re-election, worked the Iowa Caucuses for Mitt Romney in 2012, & assisted GOTV for South Dakota Gov. Kriti Noem in 2018. In 2014 he served as Treasurer of the Mississippi Conservatives superpac. He worked for the superpac supporting Carly Fiorina in New Hampshire & the superpac supporting John Kasich in MS in 2016.

Perry was a judge for the 2019 Mississippi State Fair & 2019 Neshoba County Fair Pretty Cow contests; the 2017 Taste of Starkville & the 2016 Fondren First Thursday Hot Dog Championship.
